NH 3 ( 1 , 1 ) survey toward southern hemisphere HII regions . I

چکیده
The (J,K) = (1,1) metastable ammonia line was searched for in the direction of more than one hundred southern HII regions located between 270◦and 15◦ in galactic longitude, resulting in new detections toward 21 of them. Ammonia detection rate was about 30 % towards all directions except in the longitude interval 270◦–290◦ where no ammonia lines were found in the 15 selected HII regions. A high detection rate (≥ 0.6) was observed toward positions where IRAS point sources with color indices of ultra–compact HII regions were in the beam of the telescope. An anticorrelation between the number of detected NH3 sources and the distance to the Galactic Center was found, compatible with the observed gradient in N abundance. From the value of this gradient and the detection rate of ammonia lines toward HII regions, it is inferred that the number of ammonia sources must be proportional to the inverse of the column density of the molecular cloud.

Water Masers Toward Ultracompact HII Regions
We present a survey in the 6 16 − 5 23 rotational H 2 O transition toward 33 galactic ultracompact HII regions. Maser emission is detected toward 18 of these sources; two are new detections. High quality spectra are provided for all 18 sources. We discuss the detection rate of this survey and the correlation of various maser properties with other physical parameters. In addition, we report wide...
متن کاملVibrationally excited HC 3 N toward hot cores
We report IRAM 30-m observations of vibrationally excited rotational transitions of HC 3 N toward a sample of six ultra–compact Hii regions. In addition, Effelsberg 100-m and Plateau de Bure Interferometer measurements were conducted toward the region G10.47+0.03. We detected the v 7 = 1 state of cyanoacetylene toward all six regions and the v 6 = 1 line toward five of them. Toward G10.47+0.03,...
متن کاملThe RMS Survey: Mid-Infrared Observations of Candidate Massive YSOs in the Southern Hemisphere
Context. The Red MSX Source (RMS) survey is an ongoing effort to return a large, well-selected sample of massive young stellar objects (MYSOs) within our Galaxy. 2000 candidates have been colour-selected from the Mid-course Space Experiment (MSX) point source catalogue (PSC). A series of ground-based follow-up observations are being undertaken in order to remove contaminant objects (ultra-compa...
متن کاملHigh-spatial Resolution Observations of Nh 3 and Ch 3 Oh towards the Massive Twin Cores Ngc6334 I & I(n)
Molecular line observations of NH 3 (J,K)=(1,1), (2,2) and CH 3 OH at 24.93 GHz taken with the Australian Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) toward the massive twin cores NGC6334 I & I(N) reveal significant variations in the line emission between the two massive cores. The UCHii region/hot core NGC6334 I exhibits strong thermal NH 3 and CH 3 OH emission adjacent to the UCHii region and coin-cident ...
متن کاملHigh-mass Star Formation in the Southern Hemisphere Sky
We report on a multi-wavelength (IR to cm) and multi-resolution (1 mas to 20 arcsec) exploration of high-mass star formation regions in the Galactic plane, at longitudes observable from the Southern Hemisphere. Our source sample was originally identified through methanol masers in the Galactic plane, which exclusively trace high-mass star-forming regions. (Sub)millimetre continuum and molecular...
